Trip to Medveotthon

Medveotthon

Medveotthon, the Bear Farm, is located about 30 kilometers from Budapest, in Veresegyház. It is a preserve for bears and wolves, where animals live in their natural habitat, but surrounded by the fence for visitors’ safety.

Bears are seen very well, they cool off in their pond, and come really close to the fence – you can even feed them with honey from the wooden spoons with long handles that can be obtained from the café. Wolves, however, are more discreet – they hide among the trees and observe you from the distance with their keen eyes.

Climbing the Buda Hills

János hegy, the highest point of Budapest (526 m) is one of the most popular weekend and tourist destinations.

This weekend we checked the route to tell you about its pitfalls and give you some tips on how to make the trip more pleasant.

The trip may take up to 5 hours, so you better start off in the morning, at 9-10 am, otherwise you may be late for the chairlift (which is the best part of the trip, to our opinion).
