Fashion in Socialism

This exhibition featuring socialism era Hungarian fashion will run in Budapest History Museum till January 14, 2008.
On display are outfits and more than a hundred accessories, such as hats, scarves, bags, and gloves from the fifties to the end of the eighties, the years when fashion was controlled by the state institutions and functionaries.

This exhibition is mostly based on the collection of Zsuzsa Ökrös (1931-2005), fashion designer who worked for Hungarian Institute of Fashion.
Other items of this exhibition include documents, including photos, sketches, ads, fashion magazines and catalogues, textiles from the Kiscelli Museum and Hungarian National Museum.
