Reconstruction of Thermal Baths

The large-scale reconstruction of three monument baths, Gellért, Lukács and Széchenyi will start on January 8, 2007 and continue to March, 2008.

Though the baths will continue to operate during the reconstruction, the services and use of certain departments will be limited.

In Gellért, during the first half of 2007, the men’s bath will be open both for men and women. Renovation works also include construction of access for handicapped visitors and renovation of the changing rooms in the men’s department.

Reconstruction in Lukács covers steam bath pools, sunbathing roof terrace, mudbath hall, and other facilities.

The reconstruction of Széchenyi Complex will be performed in three stages, and will cover both bath departments and locker rooms. In the second half of 2007 the new octagon pool with entrance and new treatment rooms will be constructed.
