Gellért Thermal Bath

Gellért Thermal Bath is one of the most popular and most expensive thermal complexes of Budapest.

Renovated recently this spa looks impressive with all those columns, mosaics and statutes. There are thirteen pools altogether, including wave bath pool, children's pool, swimming pool and several thermal ones. Additional services include massages, mud packing, healing gymnastics, bathing suit rentals, solarium, manicure, foot care, etc.

As for the thermal pools, in addition to two common ones there are separate areas for ladies and men, and these areas are probably the best parts of the complex.

The common pools not only are too small and shallow, but also packed with bathers and therefore a bit noisy. In the ladies’ and men’s sections though it is quieter and more comfortable.

The other disadvantages of Gellért Thermal Bath are lack of signs that can help you reach the lockers and pools through many winding passages, and rather inattentive staff. Fortunately, there are always more experienced bathers nearby to help you find your way.

Entrance fee in Gellért is higher than in any other bath in Budapest – it is 2500 Ft with a locker, and 3000 Ft with a cabin. If you leave within two hours the refund will be 300 and 600 Ft respectively.
