Trendy restaurant in downtown Budapest. Place liked by tourists, expats and upper middle class locals. Cuisine is international with Mediterranean, Indian, Hungarian, and Japanese bits. Friendly and attentive staff, prices are above average. Table reservation is recommended.

One of the most famous cafes (and restaurants) of Budapest, Gerbeaud is in business from 1858. It is offers delicious cakes for all tastes (including legendary Esterházy and Sacher). The location makes it too touristy (and pricey) though.
Gerbeaud now is not only a confectionary, but also a restaurant and a pub with live traditional music and folklore shows.

V. Vörösmarty tér 7

The name says it all. A pub showing major sporting events. A pub full of hot fans with beer in their hands.

VII. Dohány u, 20

Menu is mostly salads (850 – 950 HUF) and sandwiches. Trendy and neutral interior. Good service.
