Thermal Baths

There are about 130 mineral and medicinal water springs in Budapest, and city's thermal baths are not only tourist attraction, but also the daytime hospitals, where one can undergo medical treatment for such diseases and disorders as locomotor, gynecological, respiratory, renal, metabolic, cardiovascular disorders, etc.

But you don't have to be necessarily sick to visit the Budapest thermal bath! It is just a good place to relax and have fun.

Dandár Thermal Bath

Small and quiet bath that was reconstructed in 1978 to be put in operation as a thermal bath. There are 3 thermal pools with water temperature of 20, 38, 36 °C. Tourists are rare here.

Lukács Spa

Budapest. Lukács Spa

There are 8 swimming pools, including fancy pool, 3 thermal pools, mud and weight bath. Usually peaceful and quiet, but may get crowded on weekends. Visited mostly by locals.

Széchenyi Spa

Budapest. Széchenyi Spa and Thermal Bath

One of Europe's largest bathing complexes located in the Budapest City Park. This complex of 15 pools was reconstructed in 1999. Services include free of charge fitness, gymnastics and water aerobics.

Rudas Thermal Bath

Hot spring water containing calcium, magnesium, hydrogen, carbonate, sodium, sulphate, fluoride ions.

Király Spa

Budapest. Király Spa

There are 4 pools of 8, 10, 68 and 4 m2 respectively. Water temperature is 26, 32, 36 and 40 °C.

Gellért Spa

Gellért Medicinal Bath and Hotel opened in 1918 is one of the most famous thermal baths in the city. Its central location makes it very attractive to tourists. There are separate indoor thermal pools for men and women, saunas and few outdoor pools, one of them with artificial waves. The bath is also worth visiting because of its ornate mosaics and impressive retractable roof above one of the pools.
