Quiet restaurant on the quiet square in the downtown. The prices are average, and the waiters speak English. The point of difference though is the opening hours – it is one of the rare places in the center of Budapest where you can have breakfast.
Hungarian food, Gypsy music, waiters wearing national costumes, and a lot of tourists. The main courses are between 2300 and 5000 forints.
V. Március 15. tér 7
One of the most famous cafes (and restaurants) of Budapest, Gerbeaud is in business from 1858. It is offers delicious cakes for all tastes (including legendary Esterházy and Sacher). The location makes it too touristy (and pricey) though.
Gerbeaud now is not only a confectionary, but also a restaurant and a pub with live traditional music and folklore shows.
V. Vörösmarty tér 7
The 1920’s in America. Restaurant, Orpheum hall and Cigar room. Food: steaks, Hungarian and seafood specialties.
Every evening (except Sunday) from live music from 19:00.
