Bambi Eszpresszó

Bambi is one of the oldest watering holes in Budapest. It was very popular in socialistic times, and it still is. Today you meet in Bambi the sons and daughters of those who used to drink here in the 70s, and the old men playing domino. The place is also known for its nutritious breakfasts, which are authentic Hungarian sandwiches.

We call it a cultural place. It is neat and clean with smiling waiters and free Wi-Fi. The crowd is mostly students, their professors, and foreigners. Inexpensive food. Newspapers and magazines in German. Quiet enough to work with your laptop.

Corvintető is a club atop department store, famous for its spacious rooftop bar with great view of the city. In winter, when the open air terrace is closed, you can dance and chill till dawn downstairs with DJs and cool crowd. To get to Corvintető you can use stairs or an old elevator with a minibar.

VIII. Blaha Lujza tér 1-2 (Corvin Department Store)

Csendes (Silent) is the new kid on the block that takes its name from the grand restaurant that used to be in this space many years ago.

In addition to the name the place preserved also two imposing columns that are the focus of this abundantly decorated space. Indeed, you may spent hours just examining all the interior details of the bar, big and small, the objects and pieces of arts covering the walls and hanging from the ceiling.

Design clothes and accessories created by Hungarian designers and designer groups. Their bags of bicycle tires and LPs may be a good non-trivial gift.
