14. Budapest International Wine Festival

The 14th Budapest International Wine Festival will be held from September 4th to 14th, 2005. Over 170 Hungarian and foreign wineries are showing their best wines at this prestigious wine trade events.

15th European Film Festival

Művész mozi (VI. Teréz krt. 30. Tel: 332-6726) will become the venue of the 15th European Film Festival to be held in Budapest from November 24 to December 4, 2005.

The festival will feature works of directors from Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Poland, Spain and other European countries:

20th Anniversary Nike Budapest International Half Marathon

The marathon will start on 4th September, 2005 at 10:00 am from Kós Károly sétány (XIV. district). The route is 21 km long and runs through the city, across the bridges and most beautiful parts of Budapest.

Beware: Taxi Scam

A couple of days ago we have been waiting on Oktogon for the taxi we ordered by phone. We have our preferences, and always use the same taxi company, so we know how their cars look like and what their logo is.

A car bearing no signs except crooked “Taxi” sign on the car roof pulled to the curb, and the driver started to waive his hands and point to the meter impatiently thus trying to persuade us to get into the car.

Bodies, the Exhibition

Bodies, the Exhibition
This exhibition that will run in VAM Design Center in the downtown Budapest features more than 200 organs and full body specimens in 9 galleries.

On display are the dissected real human bodies specimens preserved with the help of advanced technologies to show the visitors the beauty and complexity of body’s many bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and organs.

The exhibition that was a great success in many world cities including New York, London and Amsterdam will run in Budapest from May 24 to December 31.

Budapest Autumn Festival

Budapest Autumn Festival is about contemporary art, graphics, dance, music, theater and design. Launched by Municipality of Budapest for the first time in 1992, it is now held annually. This year the festival will take place in the second half of October, from 14th till 23rd.
