Unfortunately Alter Ego is not the open-minded relaxed kind of place that you'd expect from one of the city's first proper gay clubs. As is common with many other places in the area, the security staff are extremely aggressive and physically violent. Last night, I saw a girl being dragged across the dance floor and up the stairs by one of the monkeys that they employ to keep the place 'safe'.
