The saleswoman hearing the Russian language, snatched the book out of my daughter's hands and showed her out of the store on the basis that she is not Hungarian. She slammed the gate of the store store closed in front of my face. My daughter cried. We've been to a lot of places but never experienced anything like this. It's inadmissible and unacceptable. My family won't let it slip away like this. We demand an official apology and make sure the content of this field isn't kept private and will be shown publicly.

Mumus is fantastic. I've been in Budapest a week short of a year and had never been here until last Saturday. It might be the best ruin pub in Budapest, in my opinion, and it's in a great location too which might be part of the reason!
We are four ladies who travel as often as possible. I had never been til Budapest until May 2010. And we discovered BOB, fortunately. Very friendly staff, lovely live music, good food, and the best Tiramisu I have ever tasted. I just wish i could get the recipe. I'll be back - sometime!
I went there with my boyfriend last sunday night (May 2010). In the beginning we were like misplaced, but after one beer we started a conversation with the locals. They were singing and having fun. Suddenly we were choosing songs for them and making jokes together! We spent a really nice time there! I strong recommend it!!!
Visited 4play last night....can only say that it delivered on every front.

*Reasonable drinks - check.
*No scamming - check.
Effectively me and my boy Coolski were a bit apprehensive given that we escaped a mighty scamming along the Vaci Utca (elevator bar -google it.) Did a fair bit of research prior to venturing out, and decided to go for 4play.
There is clearly some dodgy shit going down with the taxi situation so we opted to be dropped off a a nearby hotel (Zilchy - got a free brolly=nice one.)
The geezer on the bar recommended a nearby steak house to wet our whistles prior to the smut.
Nice place, called STEX - did not eat but it was wel priced. We had a few Drehers (2 off) and played pool (3 off). Bill worked out about £6-7 and we were then off n our merry way to 4play - just across the road from STEX.
No entrance fee to get in, and we ordered a few beers - about a thou a throw. Later discovered the draft was 1300HUF and included a Blackjack token - will get on to this story later.
Good selection of burds, although their chat was at times weak and direct, they were not bitchy. Ended up having a few dances (10k HUF for 10mins). Ts&Cs vary from burd to burd - but generally chuff is off limits.
Had a pretty good night topped off by my boy winning a free dance at the blackjack table & me getting a Dreher - gratis.
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Budapest - and I would certainly go back for a lear and a grope if I found myself in the area.

According to the airport's page, you can use T-Mobile (paid) or Pannon (free). Now what if I have an iTouch? How is it going to work - if at all?
this post is a little misleading. the park is very nice and quite popular on weekends, but it is still somewhat under development as there are lots of buildings for cafes, but the last time I was there (end of april 2010) only one actually had a cafe in it.

I have been in BOB's on various occasions and liked it very much! The Piano playing was brilliant and the Barcadi coctails are great! One suggestion, hand out a pencil so I can mark of the coktails I already had! They are delicious!
This seem a bit insane as usually there are well under a dozen of people cuing up at ether of stations. And taking into account the guys behind a desk will spend 10-15 min to give you a ticket it should be quite a nightmare.
Anyway, Hungarian railways (in terms of quality / being modern) are way into the future comparing to other Central EU. Love to travel with them but Austrian are even better ;)

I went with my friends to 4 Play and had a great time. The prices were good. And, we got real drinks. We tried another bar offering a 30 Euro all you can drink deal (P1) which was not very good. We saw this offer online, but it ended up not being very good.
We had our stag on the stage for a great show. We're still talking about that.
I will go back to 4Play next time I'm in Budapest for sure. I will have more dances with Lilly (Spelling).

Unfortunately Alter Ego is not the open-minded relaxed kind of place that you'd expect from one of the city's first proper gay clubs. As is common with many other places in the area, the security staff are extremely aggressive and physically violent. Last night, I saw a girl being dragged across the dance floor and up the stairs by one of the monkeys that they employ to keep the place 'safe'.
