Budapest. Public Phones

Public phones are operated by 10-, 20-, 50- and 100-forint coins or T-Com (telecommunications company) phone cards.

Most public phones operate with phone cards available at newsstands, tobacco shops, post offices, supermarkets and hotels.

T-Com now sells only HUF based cards with a face value of 500, 800 or 1800. All card-operated public phones in Budapest are callable. (You'll find the number in the phone booth.)

You also can call a taxi from any card-operated phone in Budapest by pressing the "A" button.
