Recently opened Jelen, a nice addition to the Budapest nightclub and bar scene, is quickly gaining popularity among both locals and travelers by word of mouth alone.

This spacious bar subtly decorated with arty posters opens every day at 4 pm, just when you are almost done with your job and errands and ready to have a pint.

Jelen offers Serbian and Hungarian food at very decent prices, affordable even for the poorest of students, and decent selection of alcohol you pay for on the spot. The kitchen is open till midnight, while some snacks are always there by the bar.

This low-key bar sporting mismatched chairs and tables is packed with sociable folks who come here to meet friends and listen to one of the bands that often perform here.
